All-Star to Playoffs!

What’s up fans! I know it’s been a while but January was a crazy month. I think we played every 2-3 days or at least that’s how it felt! We had some good wins during that stretch right before All-Star Break going 4-1 and now that All-Star Weekend is over, it is time to get back to work.

All Star Weekend was a lot of fun. There wasn’t a lot of defense played but we won and the fans had fun, and that’s what is most important. Normally I’m not even big on making an all star team or anything like that but considering where I’ve come from to making the all-star team; this was a nice achievement for me. My first season here, I wasn’t drafted and I was brought in as a replacement player. The same can be said for my 2nd season here with the addition of a KBL Championship. So for me to make the all-star team in my first year as a draftee and actually be leading the league in scoring so far makes this one all-star selection special for me because it shows me that my perseverance and dedication has paid off in more ways than one.

All that being said my participation in All-Star Weekend would not have been possible without my teammates and coaches, who have given me the chance to show my talents. Taking that into consideration now its time to get back to work and make a final push before playoffs. We still have a lot to accomplish. My goal going into this last stretch of the season to the playoffs is to finish 1st or 2nd in the KBL. We are currently tied for 3rd and after having experienced a championship run last season; I know how important it is to get that 1st round bye and home court advantage. You get a chance to rest your body and watch other team’s new strategies. I think we can do it and I hope you guys and girls are there to cheer us on. Until next time, be safe everyone. Go Samsung!

Hey Aaron,
I have been searching online a bunch recently trying to figure out how to see a pro game out here in Seoul. I couldn't find any ticket info or arena addresses, but I did find your website and blog. I am hoping you can help me out. How can I get some tickets and when is your next home game?

Thanks,
Mark

Do you have a favorite team in NBA? I have become interested in NBA. Among the nba teams, I like the oklahomacity Thunder because Thunder word is similar to the Thunders.^^ in addition, OKC Thunder play and Samsung Thunders play is very similar. Both team is weak in defence, strong in offence. OKC Thunder have number 1 scorer, you know, Kevin Durant. Thunders also have you.. best scorer in kbl.

maybe You were in Sacramento, so do you like the sacramento kings?

Happy New Year!

Hey fans, Happy New Year!! I hope everyone had a great 2010 and an even better start to 2011. I gotta say as a member of the Samsung Thunders…we are all very happy 2011 is here. LOL. 2011 brought us a 2 game winning streak so far and it allowed us to leave our disappointing December in the past. It’s a new year and it feels good to finally have put together back to back victories. Our first win came on New Year’s Day and unfortunately I was unable to play due to a minor injury I got in our previous game. Nevertheless, my team held it down for me and picked up the slack. No worries though, I was able to get treatment for 3  days  morning and night and even in the locker room before our game January 2, in order to be ready to take on the LG Sakers. I played well in my 1st game back from being hurt. I had 23 pts and 7 rebounds in 23 minutes but most importantly WE as a team played really well together. My teammate Eric Sandrine really stepped up and it was nice to see. Our defense was really good and during our crazy December it was missing. So it was nice to see us focus in that area and really lock in on our goal to stop the other team. Next up is Mobis Phoebus, the team I played for last season and won a championship with. There is something about playing your old team that always gets a player’s adrenaline pumping. Needless to say, I am looking forward to the match. I hope to see you all there cheering us on…Go SAMSUNG!

Before I sign off there is one last thing fans. I would like to send a special thanks to my trainer and translator. It’s nice to stop sometimes and say thanks to those people behind the scenes that help make your life in a foreign country easier. Also to say thanks to those who make sure they make themselves available to you when you need them, so that you can perform to your best capability. So to my translator Scot and my trainer J Baum…thank you. I appreciate the jobs that you both do. Ok fans, so stay tuned and I will talk to you guys later. Until next time…Be safe everyone.

Chemistry!

What’s up fans? I know it’s been a couple weeks since I checked in with you all. I apologize for the radio interview debacle. Whenever, if ever, I am able to upload it I will let you all know.

Well as many of you may have noticed my team has ran into a bit of a struggle as of late. We have lost 4 out of our last 5 games and somehow have managed to maintain 3rd place. Thank goodness we started out well. Whenever you have a team with so many important pieces, it is going to be hard to work out roles and chemistry when the pieces are constantly moving. Right now, we are trying to find our identity as a team with all of our pieces. Before our National Team Players (NTP) came back, our young guys had to learn how to adapt to more minutes and having a greater impact on the outcome of our game. As they succeeded, we all succeeded because our roles were well defined and everyone understood that even though we were going to go to me a lot, each player was important and needed to be ready to make that shot if necessary i.e. the 3ot win we had when I fouled out in regulation earlier this season.

Now that we have our main players back, we are struggling with roles and an understanding of each other and what it takes to win as a unit. Nevertheless, no road worth traveling is ever easy. With so much talent, it is hard to mesh into roles. However, the bottom line is winning is the only way to a championship. In basketball, you need one or two chiefs and a lot of followers. Right now that is a struggle for us in determining our identity. We want to go to the player that is going to give us the best shot at winning a game or the player that is going to demand a double team and allow our other talent to score and get us the win. Sometimes it’s hard to let go of a role you have had for a while and it’s even harder to settle into unfamiliar roles for the betterment of the team. I am sure that as a unit we will come to realize the necessary ways we need to play in order to get back to our winning ways. Our young players will need to learn to maintain their confidence even in lesser roles and our NTP will need to learn to adapt to the progress our younger players were able to make while they were gone. Then as imports, we will need to continue to provide that 1-2 power punch that led us to the top of the league while incorporating our more experienced talent.

Nothing is impossible and this team is too talented to fold. As I told yall in the beginning, we have lost 4/5 games and we are still in 3rd. Our destiny is still ours for the taking but it will be solely up to us to step up to the challenge and give of ourselves and our egos for the betterment of our team. Chemistry is by far the key to success! Until next time, keep cheering Samsung on…we need it! Go Samsung!

Hi~ I'm here again. recently, I read your article in the Sports On magazine.
not in the Jumpball.

As I read the article, I came up with this sentence, 'basketball is played not with
your body, with your brain'..kk
you are so smart that you can play much better than other big players..^^ of coures, you are rather tall in kbl.

by the way, how can we find your radio interview in TBS EFM? I found the TBS
Sports Weekend Homepage, but there is no repeat section..

anyway, I hope Thunders will be ranked No1. in kbl this week. I look forward to watching your smart, clever play~^^ good luck!

Hi Jinholee,

I am currently trying to get the radio interview uploaded to my youtube channel. The radio station does not run the interviews again on the website. Im sorry for the delay but as soon as I can I will have the interview for you and all my fans to listen to. Thanks for your support.

The Season Is Back In Session!

What’s up fans? I know it’s been a minute but we got our national team players back and the season has officially started again. Now that the Asian Games are over and all the teams have their players back the season is going to be much more hectic. We have played 3 games since starting back and are 2-1 in those games. Our latest win against Dongbu Promy was big for us because it put us in 2nd place. It takes a lot to stay on top in the KBL, so for us to continue to bounce back from a loss and get big wins is huge.

Anyway, since it’s been a while, I got a nice surprise for all of you. The guys at TBSE FM Sports Weekend were kind enough to send me the radio interview I did with them during the Asian Games break and I’m sharing it with yall now! I hope you enjoy it. Be sure to comment and let me know your thoughts!

But I have to go now. We have a game today, Thursday and Saturday…so its a pretty busy week for our team. Gotta get my rest! Until next time, enjoy the interview and be sure to cheer for Samsung! Be safe everyone.

*the radio interview has had technical difficulties being uploaded to my page and you tube channel. As soon as possible it will be up for you to enjoy. Thanks for understanding*
